Landscape has been my first love since running wild on the South Downs as a child being an avid tree climber. Living in the glorious Chiltern countryside gives an unending supply of subject matter. I respond to the landscape physically and psychologically, noticing and absorbing the seasonal changes. Every tree in my woods is a friend and I note each with sadness when a branch is lost or a whole tree falls. I navigate my walks by the trees, knowing where I am according to their position and placing. The images here are “traditional” landscapes as well as abstract views - capturing the environment around me and showing and sharing its aesthetically pleasing colour shape and form. Wherever I travel i find myself drawn to the trees around the world, each with their own contribution to the country they belong in.
