Extant reflects visceral thoughts of those known to me by using items from my cabinet of curiosities. The groupings, containing a manmade item relating to each person, play the role of representing those who are alive but also reflect the fragility of life in the use of delicate and decaying items from the natural world. By building up a metaphorical rather than figurative portrait and not titling the images the work leaves the viewer to search for personalities and bring them to life in their own way.
